Tesco rhubarb and asparagus crowns

Seen in Tesco, Askham Bar, York, today Rhubarb crowns £1.99 and 5 x asparagus crowns for £2.99

I know its only a couple of pound but I never know wether to buy these type of things or not. I notice woolies have asparagus crowns in too. For a couple of pound I suppose its worth it but I always think if I buy one plant it and care for it then nothing happens I may have missed the boat fpr planting more that year! are you going to get some?

I bought the last rhubarb but not asparagus as I had ordered some expensive asparagus last year which I had just planted - sadly have no room for any more. The rhubarb has gone in a big tub. (from the recycle pile at Wyevale!)
