Hello Paul,

For info' the Cultimatic name was used over a few models....

The 3 early versions were Cultimatic Super with Suffolk 98g14 engine and later with Qualcast/Suffolk A98 engine.   The Special with 3hp B&S and De luxe with 4hp B&S.

Later there was the Cultimatic B66 with Atco/Qualcast A114 engine and a totally different chassis....derived from the Merry Tiller Cadet.

Ooops... ..I forgot the link with the Atco Cultivator....I have never actually seen one "in the flesh"...as machinery could be quite regional relative to what the main dealers for the county sold

The Qualcast Cultimatic chassis, older type, was used for 2 versions of Atco Cultivator...one with 3hp B&S fitted and then the DeLuxe version with, I think, 5hp B&S...this chassis looks to share part numbers with your machine.  Atco green though rather than Qualcast yellow-ish

When Atco/Qualcast acquired Webb, thus gaining the Merry Tiller range,  the MT was then I supect sold in lieu of the older Cultimatic style machines.

What I don't know is who actually made the old Cultimatic chassis.??... as it bears some resemblance to other makes chassis...

For details specific to engine it should be possible to use your engine numbers...on the B&S website....but somehow I don't  seem to have much luck with that these days.?? ..not sure if it is just my fussy old pc or what.??

All the best,
            "Dori"

I don't like to dig up the dead but this post refers to a Qualcast Cultimatic De Luxe .  I had one of these but my garden workshop burned down and all that was left of the engine was the crankshaft and valves and a puddle of alloy.  I can work on the bent handles.  I assume the engine is the same as the one in the quote.
My question is what 4hp or 5hp horizontal shaft BS or Honda engines could I use?  Knowing that I can look around for a good one
