  • Hi I'm Mark
So after a lot of mulling over I decided to bite the bullet and order a Ryobi Strimmer and a tiller attachment to go with it

I have seen reviews on the tiller attachment and it looks pretty impressive in action especially since its only a 26 cc engine

I am not expecting to go straight through the virgin soil with it but it will deffo help me get the plot turned around quicker

Has anyone else used one of these machines?

I will update this post when it gets here and again once I have used it

All the best

Mark

I'll be glad to hear your views once you've used it. My partner seems keen on the brushcutter/tiller set-up too.

I have got the tiller and the hedge cutter.

The tiller is good but it does hurt your back because of the way you have to hold it. I find it easier to hold it with one hand and walk backwards with it doing about three passes to get a good tilth, it will go fairly deep if held in one place  :D get some ear defenders for nearby plot holders if its the 2 stroke one  :nowink:

The hedge cutter is great I am going to invest in the extension for it now.

I have used one for years, as you say they won't tough virgin soil but if you dig it over in the winter the tiller will make short work of it in the spring. Make sure you let the engine warm up fully before using the tiller. If you want the extension bar Bravemurphy look on ebay under the handy tiller. Their is a company doing one that is compatable at a very good price.
