Don't worry about me Babe, but that idea won't work!!!  He won't give you one of them, but he may be tempted by money!  I just wish I could win some money on the lottery to buy HIM a farm on the outer Hebrides!!!!  I'm going south!!!!

Well I've been trying to get a decent close up of my new girls to show their lovely feathering without success. This is the best I have manages and it really doesn't do them justice. Might have to upgrade to something better than a mobile.

So I decided to get a pic of them all settled on the lawn so peacefully. Guess who spotted me and came to investigate why I was hiding behind a bush with my hand stuck out the other side. And not a treat in sight. Just a Bl***y mobile phone, can't eat that

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

OOh kate, very nice. Is that one a pure black one? Aren't they supposed to be rare?

He is a crested cayuga/black crested cross without a crest! Slightly complex genetics results in half of the resulting ducklings of crested matings having crests, a quarter being without and a quarter dying in shell. Patrick (formerly Daisy  ) is a bit of a reject from his breeder due to his lack of crest. I think they look a bit weird with a crest (and think cultivating a mutation associated with lethality a bit odd too) so was happy for the reject to keep my lonely one company. Has the most beautiful green irridescent sheen that doesn't come out in this photo. So a mongrel but I loves him
