just to let you all know how our baby chick is doin, he/she's eatin and drinkin fine and runs round like carzy everytime we get her our for a play session.  :lol: just wonderin if anyone know when her adult feathers will start to grow in as i was lookin forward to start takin her outside for 5-10mins a day when the weather starts to get better, thnx

Nice1 you have a chick. I love little chicks they are sooo cute,your chick should be okay to go outside for spots of ten mins at a time at around 5-6 weeks, just coz they cannot control their body temperature, until they get their adult feathers. When the chick/s are 2 months old they can be introduced to the regular big chickens.  They should be fine.

i woke up this mornin to the farmilar sound of my chick, so i had her out for a bit then put her back and went out for 2 hrs. i've just came back in nd she is dead :( any suggestions on why this has happened?

it was only a week old but i'll still miss wakin up to the sound of it cheepin  :cry:  but our pekin chicken has been sittin on 5 light sussex eggs for just over a week now so hopefully we'll have some more soon

oh sorry about your chick I lost one this week too, one day fine the next gone.  Its so sad but they go down so fast its shocking.  Good luck with your new  clutch.
