Hi I'm new to this site and in my introduction I have said I like certain things but failed to mention that a big love of mine is also preserving.. so here is a recent pic of just some of the things I have been making.. I will be making a lot more when the blackberries appear and the courgettes are a bit more giving. I have been given a new recipe for courgette and ginger jam and can't wait to try it.

I can only recommend Val's book - loads of lovely recipes there which have kept us in chutney and pickles all year, and that is saying something.

I have jammed and pickled so much from Vals' book that I am having to beg jars from anyone who will listen, and I'm now having problems finding space to store the end results, but I estimate that I shal save over 50% on what I would normally spend on shop bought stuff.  Plus I know what's in it.
