Pickling onions

Hi everybody the Question I have got is I am growing some pickling onions,do I pickle them staight away when they are ready ie the tops have bent over or do I have to dry them like ordinary onions.

You must dry them first..
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

A lot of my sturon onion sets didn't put any timber on at all and stayed just the same size as when I planted them. They have now been pickled.
