Done my chrysanth cuttings exactly the same as I've always done, in the greenhouse, but this year they seem to be averse to rooting. The cuttings aren't dying off, they just won't root. Another chrysanth grower up the road is having the same trouble. Ideas?

Couple of questions:

- did the cuttings have a whitish section at the bottom, where this section had been under the soil, and a piece from the original stool attached?

- were they warm enough at night, not just in the daytime?

- did you use vermiculite or similar in your rooting compost?

No whitish section.
Kept in unheated greenhouse all the time.
Just normal potting compost.

Some cuttings I've done more recently in exactly the same way have taken offf ok. In fact, some of the earlier cuttings which I kept outside have done better that those in the greenhouse.

It's the fact that the cuttings have remained healthy , but just not rooted which baffles me.
