Some lovely pictures so far

I would like to enter this picture if I may. This was taken from our garden during the autumn maize harvest.

Staghorn on the Grand Union at Kings Langley.

I took this on the 4th Nov while walking the Grand Union Canal with my trusty old Canon compact, sadly on it's way out.  The tree was absolutely stunning in the late afternoon sun.  It almost looked like it was on fire.

We've walked the Green Sand Ridge through the Chilterns and the Thames from source to sea and the Grand Union is our latest project.  It's provided some interesting sights and wildlife so far but this has to be up there with the best.

It's my first ever photo entry so hope you like it.

OK, as many of you know we don't have a lot of trees right round here, so this is quite a typical autumn scene for us. A bit different, I know... :)

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

Reflecting upon the last days of Leonardslee Gardens – an autumn to remember.

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colours gleaming in the sun.
