Euphorbia ID ?

Does anyone know which euphorbia (spurge) this is :?:

It's growing in my son's garden and he is fairly sure it wasn't there last year.

i'm not totally sure auntie - there are over 2000 species

might be caper spurge (E. lathyrus) - but i don't have a piccie here to compare.
