There's a prize – “On the Plot” with ‘Dirty Nails’ – A practical guide to fruit and vegetable gardening – in words and pictures.

The simple rules:

·   The competition is open to all "Full Members".
·   At the closing date we will add a poll for members to vote on and the most popular photo will be the winner.
·   The winner will receive a prize as listed above and the winning photo may be placed in a permanent photo gallery along with the best runners up.
·   Closing Date for Entries: Wednesday 6th January 2010 when voting will be allowed by all members until Wednesday 13th January.

Title    A New Year Garden

This is one of my favourites.  It's the side of our driveway down in Essex which I took on 1st January 1997.  I had to dig 2ft of snow off the driveway which had blown off this field before Brian and his mate brought a "new" 2nd hand car home for us.

I liked the new trees growing out the side of the old stumps.

This is my favourite - A Christmas Robin - I took this during a frosty day late last year on the hedge in our garden. I had been out taking pictures of the countryside around us when I caught sight of this lettle fellow watching me. It was one of those quick shots that turns out really nice.

Jacob enjoying the first snow in our new back garden, after having spent all of his younger years living in high rise flats with just a balcony.
As soon as it started snowing he just had to go out and play on the trampoline!

Where's the town gone!! The view from my front garden looking down the hill.
Normally you can see the town and sea but not yesterday.

Title:  York Minster in the snow

I was on my way to a service at my own church, which is next door to the Minster, and managed to get this piccie.  You can spend years looking for the iconic Minster shot and I'm really pleased with this one!

Title : Winter wonderland on your doorstep.

Desc : This is Fairy Dell which is about 60 seconds walk from our front door. We were down there at 8am on Sunday to enjoy the snow and go sledging on our Chicken feed bags. 1st time my wife has ever been sledging and what a great place to do it. Who needs kids :D

It was the night before Christmas (well 23rd December actually) and we built a snowman in the garden following a heavy fall of snow at 5.00pm

"it's bigger than me daddy"

Luckily snow all gone now.  Think it might be too late to dig my dahlias up though!
