The first signs of spring - That could be so many things from flowers to lambs and other baby animals.. even comfrey sprouting back. So get snapping!

There's a prize! Either a copy of either of my books or if you've got them both (bless you!) a copy of Virginia Shirt's The Right Way to Keep Chickens

This competition will only run until 5th April - with voting for a week after.

The simple rules:

  • You can enter one photograph into the competition which should be no more than 640 pixels wide.
  • It can be anything you want that sums up the holiday season for you
  • It should be accompanied by a short title and some description.
  • The competition is open to all "Full Members".
  • At the closing date we will add a poll for members to vote on and the most popular photo will be the winner.
  • The winner will receive a prize as listed above and the winning photo may be placed in a permanent photo gallery along with the best runners up.
  • Closing Date for Entries: Sunday 5th April 2009 when voting will be allowed by all members until Monday 13th April

Full rules can be found Here

We went to Kew to see the orchids  a couple of weeks ago and were greeted by this sight through the main gates:

Title: Crocus Crazy
Description: A sea of white and purple.

EDIT:  Sorry for making it disappear for a bit..... i'll stop fiddling now.

Snapped this in the back garden a few days back. Re-sizing is a skill I need to work on!

First butterfly to visit our garden this year!

After chasing the butterfly round the garden (and saving it from nearly being eaten by the cat!) this is the best shot I could get of the little blighter!  :)

Snappy

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.
