A friend of mine who I recently met on the bus used to grow deep, deep red Shallots many years ago, he's an elderly Gentleman and doesn't grow things anymore as it is to much for him but he said they were the best he's ever grown and even used to send seed to his friend in Russia, he doesn't know the variety as he used to save seed from his own crop, I wondered if anyone knows the name of a truly red Shallot, I've seen lots of pink one's and even some quite red ones but these are deep red he says and absolutely lovley?

i think your reffering to one called armador .im sure if you search for that type you will come up with seeds hayley
