Bring on the slug traps! Beer (past sell by date I hasten to add) seems to work OK, and half oranges. Anybody got any other tips?

so this ban does it mean for everyone including farmers and growers? because we have been most protective in using slug pellets containing metaldehyde only on covered beds where as I know farmers use these slug pellets by the barrow load on rape crops also commercial growers use it on there veg crops


I'm all for protecting wild life so long as it universal and not nit picking on the few  we all know the effects on wildlife that spraying certain chemicals have had and have been quite rightly  banned however any introduction of a safe slug  deterrent  for both the home gardener and the horticultural  and agricultural industries would be acceptable  so long as it did the same job as the present ones and at the same cost 


anyway lucky for me i bought several bags of the [met]  slug pellets this year

Invent a slug exterminator, rather like those automatic independent mowers, which are recharged by sunlight!

'Essence of slug' is converted into signals that the machine can understand, and they operate through the night, effecting a killer blow to the culprits!

I have a feeling 'Growsterslug' - or maybe 'Slugrowster' could make millions...
