Hi there,

Can anyone help with a radish question? The pack says they will bolt under dry hot conditions yet radishes are grown in polytunnelss, little confused but have confidence in more experienced gardeners that me, hope someone can help and thank you in advance.

I've been growing them since January in a cold greenhouse and haven't had any problems thus far.

I sow a dozen or so every 10 days and we've been eating them for weeks now.  Growing like mad they are!!!

My mind can rest ..thanks guys, just wanted to check..peace of mind. I pulled one up today and although not that big yet, I mean no show radishes, it tasted good, the white ones ive gone for....can any one tell me the best spacing,,,i followed the pack on these and it seems that im going to get a few radises, taking up a lot of space,,,it says 30cm between rows, and 20cm between radishes???  im using a lot of space,,,,but they taste great, im going to put some more in but just wanted to check if they can go closer together?

That is a lot of space to use.  I grow them in pots and tend to sow fairly densely, eating the thinnings as they grow.  Depends if you want a few perfectly formed big radishes, or are happy with smaller ones.  I think they are sweeter and far less likely to be woody when small 

You can also sow them between rows of slower maturing veg to save space.  Radish grow so fast they can be out and eaten, while the other crop gets going
