Not a great Photo but it's all I've got and someone has to go first.

Picture entitled 'In the Bleak Midwinter'

I took this in the depths of winter, December 2010, close to home. We don't often get snow, being near the coast, but this was 'A good ol' packet of snow' as my Granny used to say  :)

It was an eerliy quiet and beautiful afternoon and whilst I took the photo I was, appropriately, humming 'In the Bleak Midwinter' by Christina Rossetti (1872):

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

It was one of those rare, spritually uplifting moments  :)

I've got nothing from this winter as yet as it seems to have been universally wet, but this is my favourite snow picture from a couple of years ago.

It shows Arnie my agave as a snow flower.  Sadly the contrast of desert plant and snow was not a happy mix and he gave up the ghost after this but I have 2 offshoots which are just as evil and spikey  :D

Title:

A quiet interlude.

(Unfortunately not my plot)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Big Ben

We went ice skating at the Natural History Museum Christmas 2011 and I took this as we got off the tube at Westminster to have a go on the London Eye
