Title: Greenhouse Louvre Vent
Post by: wendyg on February 27, 2012, 07:40
I will be fitting a louvre vent to the greenhouse, the instructions says to put it low down opposite the roof vent (it has one roof vent).  At the moment this side has the potting bench and staging (it is a 6 x 8 ft aluminium greenhouse).  Access to open and close the vent will be awkward (but possible) having the vent behind the staging etc.  If I move the potting bench and shelving to the other side, will it be alright to grow plants (tomatoes, aubergines, peppers and chillies) in front of the vent or will it be too draughty?

Thanks

I have two Louvre vents along the side where I grow my tomatoes. Its never been a problem. Given the speed that tomatoes grow the plants are soon a lot higher than the vents anyhow.

You can get automatic openers for them.
