Title: Potatoes no good?
Post by: Microbe on February 09, 2018, 16:28
Hi All,

I bought my seed potatoes nice and early and they arrived in mid January in a box. I put it in the spare bedroom to deal with the following day. Unfortunately the next day my Dad had a stroke and we have been spending all of our spare time in hospital visiting and trying to get him better.
This morning we remembered the seed potatoes and decided to put them out to chit.
On opening the box we found they had all started sprouting fleshy white sprouts, are they going to be OK to plant out in mid March and should I now leave them in the light with or without their 1 to 2 inch sprouts? Or do I need to buy some more.
The varieties, in case it makes any difference, are Sarpo Mira, Carolus, King Edward and Jazzy

You can rub the long ones off and they will sprout again.
