Title: Cider Kit
Post by: MidlandBrewer on November 10, 2016, 13:50
Im looking to buy my good lady wife a cider kit for that thing at the end of December...
As this is something I have never done before my questions are these:

1) Does making a cider kit differ much from the process of kit beer?
2) Does anyone have any recomendations for kits to buy that they hay have tryed themselfs?

The good lady likes more of a traditional cider as apposed to any of this Strongbow type stuff, eventually well make our own from scratch, I just need to wait a few years for my trees to start fruiting!

Just can't help sharing the fact that hubby is currently scratting and pressing 350kg of apples for cider.  He reckons that he'll get about 30gallons of the stuff.  So beware of what you wish for!

Legendary!!!!

I've started to look at some home made press designs, I think I'll have to buy a scatter though.... What does ur hubby use?

I bought the scratter and press on a well known auction site as a present.  Took him all day yesterday to scrat and press 15 litres as the ph and sg were spot on without diluting the jiuce - hard work, bless him, but if the result is like last year's, well worth it.
