I have a Norfolk Grey a bird that was nearly extinct until someone found a flock of four in Norwich in the 70s, my uncles wifes family have brought back a bird the Applegarth Skyline, does anyone know anything about this bird?

Oh and my light sussex is laying every day now, such a thrill, my Andulusian Blue is ready to lay now, shes looking lovely!!

I am a member of these as they also cover the Sabelpoot breed (Dutch booted bantam) of which I have black, lavender, mottled buff and lemon millefleur

As far as I'm aware skylines are hybrids not a pure breed whereas Norfolk Greys are pure breed chickens.  Hybrids are created at each generation from breeder stock and generally aren't standardised by the poultry club.  I presume the Applegarth is related to the breeder of this hybrid variety.  If this is the case these aren't a standardised breed.

Just checked Darkbrowns link and looks like my post was correct a Applegarth Skyline is a blue egg laying hybrid produced from an old line of breeder stock which has been brought back to utility by a breeder call Applegarth.  It won't be classed as a rare breed.

Ahh yes Applegarth is the person who is a relative of my Aunt, that makes sense.
