Anyone know where I can get it from, Chemists, Health food shops, Home brew stores???

All three of them should sell it sparky best bet would be the home brew store but might not be the cheapest.

In case anyone out there was wondering ... lactose (rather than sugar) can be safely used to sweeten wine since it does not lead to secondary fermentation / burst bottles.  This is because yeast cannot break it down.

Same with beer, some folks still call sweet stout, milk stout for this reason.
