Post by: Beetroot queen on August 04, 2009, 20:42
I took the children to the pet shop knowing full well they would want to look at the hamsters, the front room didnt look right without the hamster palace

We saw two little white russian hamsters, who they wanted to home as a pair
so we............................

Oh, let him (or her) have a ferret they`re great fun and are a lot less bitey than the average hamster who are grumpy little so*s when you wake them up.

Ferrets are always ready to play.  :)

That was my now 19yo sons pets about 12 years ago. My 10yo keeps askin for a hamster and he cant have one after that, It was horrific - bones and digestion and the lot! (sorry BQ)

He has to make do with two dogs, a few fish and a mum and brothers as pets now

My sons had gerbils, but when one of those tried to make an escape I grabbed it but it shed its tail and still got away , I was left screaming with it's tail in my hand. Captured it later and it lived without it's tail for another 18 months - but I wouldn't touch it again. After that my sons had to make do with bigger pets

5, 4, 3, 2, 1.................Lift off!

No, I haven't been drinking either  Alas

I had hamsters and gerbils as a little girl and one of my gerbils bit down on my finger and wouldn't let go  I was shaking my hand trying to get her off and she was swinging about still firmly latched on. Ouchy.
