We recently lost one of our chickens and are down to 2, we would love to get another couple of friends for them before they get too used to being on their own but are having trouble finding anyone who has them in stock this time of year and most people seem to be getting them in around Feb time.
We would ideally like a Cuvree Maran and a Cuckoo Maran (or a Speckeldy) as we have had them before and they will be a good mix for the current 2.
Does anyone know of anyone who has any POL at this time of year?
Many thanks
Sam

Definitely too early. Even Feb seems early. Most seem to have stock from about April.

Have you tried the breeder lists?
Live Poultry | Fertile Eggs | Sale Breeders and Suppliers of Poultry in Hertfordshire (http://www.chickens.allotment-garden.org/poultry-suppliers/poultry-for-sale-Hertfordshire.php)

Hi, I have had a look at some on the list and we have done loads of searches online, but as others have mentioned they all seem to be out of stock and it will be another couple of months poss before we get any more. We have found one person who currently has chicks so we may be able to get a couple of those once they are older. I am sure they will be happy to have new friends once they have had that initial week of sorting the new ones out, I just hope they don't get too spoilt in the meantime. Thanks. Sam

Hope they are spoilt rotten :)

Did a random search on the internet Monday after posting on here, and after a bit of investigation based on one result, I found a place not too far away that had got a few in over winter to keep them going so managed to get a nice couple of newbies who have settled in much quicker than expected so happy chooks all round.

Bit early but try woodside farm, slip end Luton or Thornes garden centre Letchworth
