second crop of peas is that normal?
« on: August 28, 2018, 06:24 »
Many weeks ago we picked all our peas but i did not take the plants up, then to our surprise looking at the pea plants while i was picking some sweet peas i noticed we had so many fat pea pods we have another crop.
By the time i had taken them out of the pods i weighed them a whooping total of 2lbs,is it normal to get 2 crops of your pea plants?.

Lucky you! Tall peas often carry on cropping over a longer period, so that wouldn't surprise me - but for short peas, I think it would be unusual.

Yes they were the short pea plants, i grew them from seed, the top of the plants were so bushy and healthy there were lots of nice full pods.
They are finished now i picked the last of them today, very pleased with this type of pea, i have kept some back for seed for next year.
