Not glass ones! The lovely plastic monstrosities, that take up far too much room in land fill.
Here are some ideas:
Take the lid off, cut off the bottom, a mini clotche for tender plants.
Cut around the handle, makes a handy scoop for compost/feed.
A load of the lids strung together, then hung up will keep the pigeons off your cabbages.
Cut the top half off, use the bottom half as a plant pot, drainage holes needed!
You can cut them up, to make feeders/waterers for poultry.
Cut them into strips, and they become plant labels.
Please feel free to add any other suggestions!!! :D
Peas out!

On similar lines, I cut bottom off clear 2L pop bottles to use as mini cloches. I think some of the gardening places charge a tenner for 3 of these 'bell' type things.  No way when you can make em for free!

Good idea Hayles, what did you do about the top?  as a filter wouldn't fit, use cotton wool or just keep relaesing the plstic top to let the gases out?

The plant label one is good, I think we've mentioned most of the others before.  I stapled 6 bottles with the bottoms cut off together to use as a longer mini cloche

Oh and also, when the water butts were full, filled loads up with water to give a bit more room in the butts, and the net time I looked, OH had tipped it all away!!!!!

There are some peeps shouldn't be allowed near a garden, except when he's building me something for it!!!!! lol

Made my "milk" scoop. Great for spreading fertiliser. If you leave a decent lip then it holds a decent amount
Ah well ! There is always next year !

used em for slug pubs - bit of supermarket cheapie beer in (4 cans of morrisons bitter for a £1) and fill with slugs in no time - particularly in this wet weather
Total beginner - please bear with me if I ask daft questions!!

Good for dishwasher salt, easier to use than the placky bags

I've just cut a load of the 4 pinters off at the 2 pint level to use the bases for pots for cuttings; when, I spotted a slug in my tomatoes!  Armed with the top half of the milk bottle, I cut approx 6 inch length so it just started curling up at the end (ie towards the opening of the bottle), about 2 inches wide.  Fantastic for lifting up slugs, and hurling through the air - no more balancing them on the end of a twig for me.

PS. If Munty's getting his bean frame named after him, can this be patented as the Sally Slug Slinger?
