Well thats answered that, i was going to get my hopper hung from the celing, but it sounds as if  it would just be used as a play thing, i use a fine organic feed, and layers pelletts,  either can be in the hopper or in a big ceramic bowl, its flicked everywhere.TC

The only time the girls chucked there feed about is when I mixed in some meal worms with there layer pellets. They have there feed in a lard holder and it is on a breeze block and has a rain cover so they can not get there feet in the feed.

I went to see some chickens the other day and the chap had designed a water and feed holder which i thought seemed quite good but wonder what all you amazing experts think.

He had made a wood square box the size to fit 2 x 2lt plasic milk cartons on their side handles facing up
He cut square holes in the bottom end for food and water and put them side by side in the box.
He said he gets no spllage and can recycle and renew both containers regular.

Yes, some photos would be good, i can get my head round the wodden box with the two milk cartons, but cutting the hole, id like to see what you mean TC
