awww the little fellas are so cute!
we were a little suprised today when we arrived at the plot after a few days away from it to find we had a chicken! he (as we later found out) was strutting about as if he owned the place and seemed miffed by our arrival. i went into overdrive planning on building a little house for it, wondering if he could live in the shed, furiously trying to come up with a name for it, ian was sightly less excited and far more practically pointed out it had probably come from next door - where there are two hen houses. then our other neighbour, Keith, arrived and told us he belonged to Jock (the elusive guy next door who i have never seen in two years of being there) it's his young rooster apparently. i then spent half an hour running around the entire site trying to catch him to put him back in his own garden, much to everyone elses amusement. i eventually realised he would go home when he was hungry and left him to strut his stuff around all the other chicken shacks.
Laura
(if i could have kept him i was going to call him "the Colonel" or "Harland" after the guy who invented KFC)
