One of my Partridge Wyandotte Bantams has hatched 5 out of 6 Light Sussex Bantam eggs.  She abandoned the unhatched egg this morning (day 25) so I opened it to see if it had been viable and what stage it had developed to.  The picture is of the embryo, as you can see it had not been viable and died but I don't know at what stage.  Maybe another member can shed some light on that.  The egg when cracked let out gas under pressure and it is a good job you don't have smellyvision!   :tongue2:

I had weighed and numbered the eggs before putting them under Dotty.  When I checked the egg was the lightest at 38g all the ones that hatched were between 40 - 42g.  Hope that this is of some interest or do I need to get out more?

I'd say it was at day 8-10 according to the sizes shown in this thread.

I had seen that thread before, didn't think of using that.  Still have that horrid smell fogging my brain (well that is my excuse and I'm stink, I mean sticking to it)!!

Thanks for sharing your notes for me to compare with!  Glad I went down the broody route and just let them get on with it.   :D
