[Beloved Porcupine]

We potted up our dahlias today.  My husband noted that he thought the tubers smelled a bit spicy and I told him they were originally grown for eating.  We contemplated trying some of the odd bits that were left after potting. 

Has anyone tried eating them?  I expect varieties bred for superior flowers might not be the best to eat but it was an interesting thought.
