Nearly ready for my first chickens!
« on: February 20, 2012, 20:32 »
I finally got the concrete floor done in my chicken coop on Saturday and today I've fitted the stable type door (Made from scaff planks, should be sturdy enough!)
I hope to get the fencing up next weekend and then it's just a matter of getting my chooks :D
Can't wait and I'm also growing veg for the first time so doubly exited :D

I'm loving this allotment so far and I haven't produced anything yet!
It's better to burn out than to fade away !!     ;)

Sounds like you are making a great job of it.  Can you take and post some photos so we can see your progress, we all love photos on here.   ;)

Any photos of your preparation for your hens is good as it helps others who are thinking of getting hens.  Have found some great ideas on here from other members photos.  It can also be helpful to you if some of the really experienced chicken keepers see any possible problems with your set up.   :)

Well done, did you need permission for the concrete base if it is at your allotment?

No Grinling, there's no restricions on laying concrete on our allotments. In fact there are hardly any restrictions at all as far as I can see.
Also the 2 people who run it are good friends of mine ;)
