Last years potatoes?
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:47 »
I still have some of last years potatoes in the sacks they were grown in last year. Do I have to throw them away? Will they be ok to dig out now and eat or will they just grow again?

Many thanks

Dig them out, inspect, then decide.   There may be some passed it, but some may still be edible.

What do you think would be a good course of action?     Cheers,     Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I just wondered if they were left would they produce again and be ok to consume? Imay well just dig them out and see what's going on with them.

Many thanks

I used to clamp mine on my previous plot, this meant they were in the ground and they lasted pretty well, I would guess by now they would be moving and sending up fresh growth.

Dont leave to grow as they can carry disease etc so as Klefti has said bin the ones your not using.
