Welsh Onions (I think)
« on: March 08, 2011, 13:13 »
Hi all, looking for some advice.

A friend of mine has given me some little onions tha are called Wlsh Onions.

These have started to sprout and are clumped together.

Are they OK to split and plant and should I pout them straight into the ground or grow on in pots?

Thanks for the hep  :)
Shaun

Split them up and plant straight outside, and then you will get a bigger clump :)

Welsh onions are not common here and when I came across a pot of seedlings for sale last fall I bought it. Back home, I prepped the area well as I would for onions, then planted them out as I would for onions so I'd get nicer clumps. Can't wait to try them.
