Reversing the tines on a Mantis tiller
« on: February 22, 2016, 09:30 »
I'm thinking of buying a Mantis Classic (their smallest petrol tiller). I see on the Mantis site that you can reverse the tines to use it as a cultivator rather than a tiller. They suggest doing this to rip out weeds.

I don't really understand the difference between a tiller and a cultivator. Can someone explain? And does anyone have any experience of reversing the tines on their Mantis? Can you explain what impact it has?

Any other advice on the Mantis Classic would be helpful. Even if only to tell me it's too small to be fit for purpose!

PMed you Snoop!

Reversing the tines just means you switch them round for weeding and more work to the surface of the soil, rather than the digging downwards! You want the tines to point forwards/downwards for the latter. They're very easy to change round!
