I bought three little australorp chicks in the summer and kept them quarantined from the rest of the girls for about three/four weeks before letting them all in together. There hasn't been any problems; they keep together but they do mix in with the big girls during the day.
When the weather got colder, I decided it was time to get them into the ark with the others, where they could all be warmer. However, the little one, Millie, goes back every night to the old coop, even though both her sisters now happily climb the ramp to the ark. I have to collect her and put her in with her sisters every night.
Any ideas how I could persuade her to take herself off to the correct bedroom?
It's not a big problem, it's quite nice to tuck up the baby but I wonder why she's doing it.

I would think as she is the smallest maybe it will take her a little while longer to feel comfortable in the bigger flock. I think it probably will take a little time. You could scatter a little mixed corn at bedtime to encourage her!
