Hi all, I have built a new run under cover, but with all the rain. the mud it still getting wet. so I will need a floor cover, I was thinking wood chip, do you have any idea's what I should use.

wood bark can harbor mold and bacteria..Hard wood  not bark as hard wood is to dense to penetrate with mold spores. with the Hard wood you only have to top every now and again depending on how many chickens you have.

also you can use
 
Gravel or pea shingle  10mm, 20mm

Unfortunately hardwood chips are no better than bark as they are susceptible to mould which can cause Aspergillosis a fungal respiratory disease.  It is particularly susceptible under alternationg cycles of wet and dry conditions which encourages mould sporing.  If you use hardwood chips ensure it stays dry and there's plenty of ventillation.  Softwood is actually best.

Never use hardwood shavings in the house only softwood.
