The Wyevale Garden Centre at Wroughton, near Swindon (i.e. Blooms) has now got loose seed potatoes in. Just a few varieties - Pentland Javelin, King Edward, Charlotte, Rocket, fill a paper bag for £1.99. If you pick out smaller spuds and really cram them in, you might manage to get 10 in a bag :)

They also have an enormous range of seed potatoes either in 2.5kg bags (£3.99) or a bag of 10 (£2.49).

That is actually very expensive.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Well, yes, but if you don't have space to plant 2.5 or 3kg, it's cheaper than a bag of 10 and at least it gives you the option to buy a small amount so you can try a few varieties if you don't have much space. The only other garden centre I've found in the area selling loose seed spuds is charging 40p per spud. Homebase sells a bag of 5 but they charge £1.49 for that, so 30p per spud.

For those in the NE
Wylam Nurseries
Stephenson Terrace
Wylam
Northumberland
NE41 8DZ

48 varieties pick and mix (75p per 500g )
Plus bagged heriatage varieties (most £1.99 500g)
Most are JBA seed spuds.
They even provide a printed handout of the varieties, brief description and disease resistance)
Cursing as always pass on way to pub on Sunday and last week when seed spud sign was out we were late and they had shut so used free p&p offer from T&M when should have waited.
Still picked up some Shetland Black as OH insisted given their sucess last year.
If you are travelling worth combining with  trip to the Boathouse other side of the bridge-14 hand-pulled Real Ales and recently won Sunday food pub of the year from the local paper.
Right by Wylam station so ideal if you don't want to drive or rely on public transport.
Also just off Keelman way cycle route.

Aunt Salley:  your listing for Dundry Nurseries - They do dispatch by carrier or post.
I'm queen of my own compost heap and I'm getting used to the smell.
