I have got some weedy patches on my plot. One bed I intend to hoe then cover with cardboard, followed by manure. The other bed has couch grass and bindweed roots so will dig out as much as possible, before applying cardboard and manure. Other than that, it is a case of hand pulling things out prioritising those which look like they are about to seed. The more work done now, the less there will be in the Spring.

Having just harvested the squash at my daughters, I hoed it all, pulled out as many dandelions & as much bindweed & deadly nightshade as I could, then we covered it in cardboard. Depending on what she wants to do next year we’ll either cover with well rotted manure or the contents of her compost bin & overspil pile, the squash plants & maybe cover with membrane. Should be good come March/April & ready for my world domination of no dig 😂.
