Our site is quite high up and prone to high wind.  Quite often the weight of the beans at the end of the season means I have to resort to guy ropes and extra bits of wood to hold them up.
I have tried both rows and wigwams and found the wigwam more stable, but as you say congested at the top.
This year, in a bid for more stability, I have sourced some traditional hazel poles that hopefully the wind will struggle to shift.  Going to try a mixture of structures - 1 row and the rest  wigwams.  I might need a ladder to put them up though!
