Cheers Luke, was in a couple of days too early last week.  Thought they’d be appearing around now, might call in tomorrow when over that way as I’m based near Malton.  Thanks for the heads-up!

A trip to the local garden centre and I picked up a 2kg bag of Pentland Javelin first earlies for £3.57.

The range available was much smaller this year than before though.

Brooklea at Rothley, Leicestershire, advise me that their seed spuds will be out this weekend. List of varieties not yet available, but will only be £1.60 a kilo, or £1.40 for over 10 kilos.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'll report back after the weekend.  This is a smaller nursery than Hawgrips, but a very friendly one. Their prices are very reasonable. We ordered a miniature pot rose mail order for a friend for Christmas and it arrived in a right state. Found a very healthy replacement here for £1.50! Also got a large bunch of mistletoe for £2, whilst just across the road at Wyevale, smaller ones were £7!

Must learn to read posts more thoroughly.... been for a run out today to Brooklea( I have been before! lol) yes as per your properly read post now..potates should  be out at the weekend doh, !! So ended up at Hawgrip. They had plenty of varieties but no Lady Chrystl that I know you like DD, but a space marked for them, but had got Ambo. I also ended up with peas & broad beans. All looking rather scarce in other areas, believe they have or about to be taken over, was it on here someone said Palmers or Planters?
