I looked at this in Wilkos yesterday but the packaging didn't say what it was that accelerated the compost production or if it was suitable for organic growers (therefore I suspect it isn't!).

Any thoughts?

Usually just a mix of lime and a cheap source of fertiliser, such as BF&B or chicken manure to accelerate the rotting process.

The more expensive types include Ammonium sulphamate.

Got me thinking, human urine is a common DIY compost accelerator  but if you are on any medication it could probably not be classed as organic no matter how natural your diet ! :)

Thankfully I'm not on any medication and I regularly empty a bucket onto the heap (along with loo roll - it's biodegradable ) as I choose not to use the stinky chemical toilet that's on site so maybe that's all I need to be doing.

Good for you !

The UK is years behind the scandinavian countries in using human sourced nutrients.

I expect the label on supermarket goods would freak people beyond the profit margin  ! ;)
