I've tried growing as cordons for a few years - it keeps the plant in check but reduces yield and I feel plant health dramatically.

As for height under glass in a good year I've had 8ft vertical and 10ft horizontal growth along the ridge of the GH, in a bad year they've struggled to make 4ft. I find cukes in general are very fickle here.

Thanks for the replies. I have several small plants, sown late because of the weather and my latitude.  I've a 6'x8' greenhouse at home and a similar one on the allotment but of course they are filling up with tomatoes and the one at home has the bench down one side as well.  If enough of the plants resist committing suicide, I'll try both inside and out as well as cordon or not.  Luckily I do like to eat cucumbers.   :D
