Title: Crops for polytunnels

I am moving to a new plot which has 2 large polytunnels. Apart from the obvious tomatoes peppers chilli's etc . I was wondering which crops will not do well due to the heat they can generate.

With regards to what won't do well, during the heat of the summer lettuce, onions/leeks etc and brassicas will struggle eventually bolting but when you look at what you can grow its no real loss I just plant them outside.

You can grow almost anything in the PT.  However I would advise against corn Brussels and purple sprouting broccoli as they all get enormous.  I have had good success with lettuce and brassicas early and late in the season when it is cooler but not during the summer when they will bolt as Markey said

Thanks for your responses . So I take it root crops like radish beetroot and carrots are okay then ?

Following is a list of those crops that have grown well in mine. Potatoes, giant onions, leek, carrots, sweet corn, strawberries, celeriac, celery, beetroot, grapevine, lettuce, cabbage, oca plus the usual tomatoes, cucumber etc
