Title: New Plot - Hounslow area
Post by: aj981 on November 08, 2017, 20:41
Hello Everyone!!!

I got my first ever allotment last week, visited it once, and it looks like an abandoned plot. It has got an abandoned fridge as well - never heard of inheriting household items :)

Looking forward to articles and advises here.

Also, will be great to connect with people in Hounslow area, and may be share some equipments etc.
Aj

Hi aj and welcome.

People seem to inherit all sorts of things on new plots these days. Lots of advice on tackling overgrown plots in the Articles and Advice at the top of the page... plenty of reading matter there to help you decide on the best approach.

Little and often is best though, to avoid aches and pains

Hi and welcome  :)

I have heard of old fridges being used as storage, but its more likely there because they cost money to dispose of these days  ::)

That's a good idea - instead of getting rid of the old fridge, I will use it as a storage. Thanks :)

You're lucky to have inherited a fridge, all I got left was plastic bags, lots of them, every time I turned over the earth the fork snagged another plastic bag. It seems the previous occupant used the plot as some kind of land fill site.
