Title: Local produce (show)
Post by: greetwellboy on May 28, 2016, 06:26
Our Neighborhood is having a fun day for charity, and have asked residents to enter local produce.
I will be entering runner beans and tomato's.
I have never done anything like this before, just thought you guys may have some advice for me.
Like, what will the judges be looking for.
Thanks in advance.

David.

I've moved your post here, hopefully someone with some knowledge of showing will reply  :)

Runner beans need to be the same length (as far as possible!) and be crisp enough to snap... the judges usually test one.

Tomatoes are usually five normal or seven cherry size ones, in a circle on a plate.  No marks on skins and calyx attached.

Hope that helps a little bit. Shows are usually really good fun so I hope yours goes well when it arrives
