Title: Veg plot plan
Post by: moggy on January 19, 2008, 19:31
hi everyone

i was just wondering if people thought the following was a good idea or had any tips/suggestions.

bascailly i am planning to split the garden up (excluding my rubarb patch, cold frame and greenhouse) into the following sections.

the 3 horizontal ones will be 1meter wide and  3 meters long

the vertical one will be 1meter wide and nearly 4 meters long.

each section will be seperated using planks either 25cm or 38 cm high ...i havent decided yet.

then between each section i planned on putting down some membrane followed by some gravel/slate/covering to make little paths.

cheers
Andy

That looks nice moggy.  Three plots of rotations and one for fruit perhaps ?

Beds are supposed to be better N-S oriented so you could get a compass! Mine are a compromise...

i was thinking about the 3 for veg one for fruit idea and very nearly bought some fruit trees this morning but i havent quite decided yet.

the garden is south facing so i was orignially going to do them all length ways but the whole horizontal think just seemed to make more sense and would be easier to get in and out of using the surronding paths.....definaly going to double check with my compass tomorrow though!
