When is the best time to start planting my spring bulbs, I have about 30 tulips and 30 dafadils :)
If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

I would often think of doing this in October Jamie, so any time from now until probably December at the latest  should suit them fine. :)

The daffs can go in now but I believe that tulips benefit from going in later during November.

Narcissi are actually best planted in late August, so if they're not yet in the ground then he sooner the better! Galanthus (snowdrops) should ideally be moved/split/planted whilst "in the green" - i.e. whilst in growth. I've found they move best in mid/late winter, when they are showing leaves but not yet flowering.
