Only the usual south east slowness issues. Standing in a queue for what seems like a year and a day, because someone at the front is taking forever to do something, and only one of the two service desks are manned.  ::)

most of the smaller towns around here have lost their banks.
my local bank in Abergavenny would rather we use on line or quick deposit systems in the bank.
usually a queue and only 2 tellers.
as some one who works in the retail environment hate all this automation.
after all it could be my job at the end of the day.
online is fast taking it that way.

As I refused to do on-line banking (my wife is not PC-literate), I thought it was going to be the end of the world when our local Natwest closed just leaving the city centre one as an option with all its attendant parking problems.
No problem really once I'd adapted. Plenty of ATMs within easy driving distance for cash, also post-offices for depositing cheques and getting cash as well

The village post office saw a real increase in business when the local bank closed.  And the footfall in the attached shop didnt do them any harm either.  Win win.

Yes our local National West and Lloyd's closed last year in June. I now have to drive to Blackpool if there is a problem which has to be sorted in branch (which there has been on a charity account). So it costs me more money - so much for "helpful banking". It's really about maximising profit and stuff customer service. It is the same with all the banks in smaller towns like Kirkham. HSBC and Barclays have also gone and that leaves just Santander who are looking at pulling out and RBS.
