Any help on keeping cats of allotment

Cats:
Netting / wire-mesh tunnels when I sow seeds or plant out until the plants get established.
Some cats dislike anything resembling a snake so short lengths of old hose-pipe moved around occasionally may help.
Despite having quite a few cats living nearby my veg plots I have very few problems. It may be that once one cat has "visited" another toddles along to the same place. Maybe removing anything, watering the spot with something safe that has a strong smell may put them off for good.
I could imagine that chap Mr Flowerdrew ( from Gardens World?) would probably suggest a good sprinkle of human urine might do the trick. I'd consider sprinkling from a bucket rather than direct application. :lol:

I love cats, but not on my plot, after hundred of years of experiementing, cheap curry and chilli do work, as do water and CATerpults, but only if you are there !!
I have resorted now to lion poo, which comes in pellet form and I buy it on line, A couple of packs last a very long time, as the cats will not return. Good luck, and let us know what works for you and the cats, regards, Mrs Bouquet

Curry powder. Just bought a kilo of hot madras from the Asian supermarket for £4.00 and a light sprinkle goes a long way.

I use tea bags with tiger balm on it and put in the effected are , the tiger balm is thick and stays on when wet but we also netted our little patch im leaving fallow this year but for around the garden the teabags seem to work .

That works as do foxes but... I think I'll stick to netting.... netting doesn't need attention 365 days a year or walking or a little plastic bag behind it.
And it doesn't turn up in the middle of the night and dig seedlings and potatoes up.

Make sure you get some good netting , i got some off ebay and it was rubbish .

Rolls of old chicken-wire and long tunnel-shaped lengths of mesh-weld fencing = works well.
Green netting pegged down with tent pegs and supported on canes with small plastic bottles on the tops. (Cat's can't walk on it as it is too high above the ground. (great for strawberry bed)

Chicken wire is the only thing that worked in our garden.
Lion poo has arrived as well for extra support:), have not tried yet

When you find a gift that a cat has left for you simply remove it and carefully and quietly (late at night) place it on a neighbours plot.
Cat is no longer your problem as they return to where they did their previouse business by scent! ;) :mellow:

this did make me laugh - who needs enemies eh?! Although if it's true I might chuck the cat presents from the neighbours cat back in their garden..

Cats love any newly-dug soil, so if I plant something in my veg bed I cover it with clematis netting supported by short canes. If your neighbours are good friends and they use cat litter, ask them for some then put it on a place that doesn't matter, get them to bring the cat and then scrabble its paws in it. Should get the message.

Well ive revised my tea bags by steeping them in jayes fluid and putting in all the poop places and ive been poop free for a week even though i know the cats been it triggers the shed security liht , i have a walk round and found a couple but i didnt have a bag in place .
