Title: Plant ID
Post by: Diddy Gardener on August 25, 2015, 14:09
Hi folks,

I know you always come up trumps with plant ID's  :D I've had this for several years in a big pot. It's probably a couple of feet tall...I thought it was a type of bamboo but the trunk doesn't look like bamboo and I can't find it on the 'net anywhere! Please help, it's very attractive and I would like to find out how to propagate it.

Also a picture of the stem joints (too large for all in one post).

That's Nandina domestica,  which is also called Heavenly Bamboo.  It isn't actually a bamboo, but that may account for why you thought it was  :)
