I watched the first of my Black Rocks - Emerald lay her first egg today, it is so small and cute. She is 25 weeks old and I feel as if I have been waiting forever as I have had the four of them from 12 weeks old. The others in the picture are from Bossy Boots (Bovan Goldline) one normal and one of her double yolkers.  Will have to get bigger egg cosies for those!

It is a wonderful feeling when you open up the nestbox and see an egg there for the first time, a special moment.

Thanks Helen, I was watching through the air vent and one of my other Black Rocks - Skye was trying to get into the nest box with her.

The cosies were handmade by Ulster Weavers, they do a lovely owl teacosy which I bought for my Mother for Mothers Day.  They are on this website if you are interested www.notonthehighstreet.co.uk
